NexGard SPECTRA® offers safe and effective protection against ticks, fleas, mites and worms (including Spirocerca lupi) for dogs & puppies from at least 8 weeks old and weighing at least 2kg body weight.
NexGard and NexGard Spectra are both chewable medications that protect dogs from fleas, ticks, and mites. NexGard Spectra also protects against heartworm and intestinal worms. NexGard Spectra is the most complete protection against these parasites in a single chew.
NexGard Spectra is a medication that is used to treat and prevent a variety of parasites in dogs, including:
- Fleas: NexGard Spectra kills fleas within 30 minutes of administration and continues to kill fleas for 30 days.
- Ticks: NexGard Spectra kills ticks within 48 hours of infestation and continues to kill ticks for 30 days.
- Mites: NexGard Spectra treats and prevents demodicosis (caused by Demodex canis), sarcoptic mange (caused by Sarcoptes scabiei), and otodectic mange (caused by Otodectes cynotis).
- Heartworm: NexGard Spectra prevents heartworm disease caused by the parasite Dirofilaria immitis.
- Intestinal worms: NexGard Spectra treats and prevents roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms.
The safety of NexGard Spectra has not been established in pregnant, breeding, and lactating dogs or dogs with an MDR1 gene mutation.
For optimal results, NexGard Spectra should be given to dogs on a monthly basis.
