This hook is a stepped-up version of the classic Wide Gape, built with a thicker gauge wire for enhanced strength and reliability, making it ideal for demanding or snaggy situations. Despite its heavy-duty nature, the point is exceptionally sharper and finer than the standard Wide Gape X. Due to the delicate nature of this ultra-fine edge, it is recommended to change the hook after every fish caught to maintain peak performance.
The design features a slightly in-turned eye, a short shank, a heavily forged bend, and a secure beaked point. This geometry makes it suitable for a wide variety of pop-up and bottom bait presentations, ensuring aggressive hooking and a secure lock-down once set.
To protect their surgical edge, the points are guarded by a blob of wax which must be carefully removed before use. Ten individual hooks are supplied in a secure, dedicated box to prevent any damage.
