KORDA WIDE GAP X HOOKS

The Korda Wide Gape X Hook is the reinforced, heavy-duty version of the classic Wide Gape pattern, specifically engineered for more demanding angling conditions. The Wide Gape design is a true classic in carp fishing, based on the highly successful Maruta Kinryu spade end hook of the 1980s and 90s, which Korda improved by adding a user-friendly eye.

The Wide Gape X maintains the iconic geometry: a slightly in-turned eye, a short shank, a heavily forged bend, and a very sharp, beaked point. This design ensures high hooking efficiency with both pop-up and bottom bait presentations, and ensures a secure lock-down once set. The key difference is the thicker gauge wire used in the ‘X’ construction, which provides the extra durability and holding power needed for fishing in snaggy conditions in the UK or for demanding overseas fishing where a standard wire might not cope with the pressure.
